About us
Novabit develops Nuclos: open source, low code, and ERP that fits your processes.
Who we are
Since 2000 in Sauerlach near Munich: over 25 years of individual ERP.
With Nuclos we are a leading provider in the low-code ERP segment in Germany. Our goal: every company gets an ERP system that fits its processes and needs exactly, without compromise, without vendor lock-in.
Founded in 2000 in Sauerlach near Munich, we have since built tailored ERP solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, multinational corporations, and public authorities and organizations, across every industry. That breadth shapes how we work: our experience combines technical competence with a deep understanding of business processes, so your software fits you, not the other way around.
Nuclos is backed by an experienced team that has worked closely with customers for over 25 years. Trust, transparency, and partnership matter as much to us as technology, in every project and every customer relationship.
Nuclos 5: the next generation
AI and MCP accelerate building your individual ERP.
Nuclos 5 (opens in new tab) is the AI platform for individual ERP systems: AI and MCP accelerate modeling, screens, and workflows, productive systems on agreed scope, typically in about 30 days.
Existing customers and new projects share the same stack: Nuclos MCP, open architecture, and made & hosted in Germany.
Open source philosophy
Five principles that make our openness concrete for customers and partners.
An ERP system is always a long-term investment, often for a decade or more. With open source we make sure that investment is not tied to a single vendor. GNU AGPL 3.0 prevents vendor lock-in and creates a stable technological foundation: you keep full control of your system, can audit or extend it at any time, or have it maintained by any qualified IT partner.
-
Open source code
Nuclos's source code is publicly available.
-
Transparent documentation
Features, modules, and interfaces are transparently documented.
-
Auditable and extensible
Customers and partners can validate, audit, or extend the code.
-
You own what you build
Your own developments remain your property.
-
Independent operation
Operation stays permanently independent of us as a vendor.
More on this in the Dev Portal .
Nuclos offers the openness we need for our workflows. Open source keeps costs manageable and secures our investment.
Why GNU AGPL 3.0?
The license that protects openness for the future too.
The GNU Affero General Public License (opens in new tab) ensures that further development of Nuclos also stays open. It protects you from central components suddenly becoming proprietary, or third parties building closed extensions that create new dependencies.
-
Unchangeable usage rights
No risk that license terms are later restricted or made more expensive.
-
Protected openness
Anyone who modifies and redistributes the Nuclos core must also make those changes open.
-
Planning certainty for IT strategy
Growing companies keep full control, even over their own custom developments.
This changes nothing for your own operation: you may customize your Nuclos installation freely and run it purely internally without publishing those customizations. Disclosure only becomes mandatory once you redistribute a modified version of the Nuclos core itself, or make it available to other users over a network, for example as your own hosted offering.
What open source does not mean
Openness does not mean giving up support, quality, or security.
Open source does not mean giving up support, quality, or security. Nuclos offers professional support, regular updates, and tested software components you can put to productive use right away. Openness additionally guarantees that your system stays transparent, traceable, and auditable.
It also does not mean your in-house IT team has to build everything itself. Our team continuously develops Nuclos further, ships updates, and implements projects. Open source only extends what you are able to do.
