Business Processes

You are looking for modules. We start with your process.

Inventory, order management, and projects form the core. What they become is driven by your workflow, not a fixed package.

Standard ERP forces you to adapt your processes to modules. Nuclos inverts this: three areas are the starting point, and we shape them into your system with low-code and AI. Modular, open source, without vendor lock-in.

Process structure over module structure

Modules are the building blocks. Your process decides how they work together and what value they create.

Standard ERP organizes your work by modules: inventory here, finance there, each with its own logic. But your business runs across them, in workflows that span departments. Nuclos organizes around those workflows. Modules stay the building blocks (opens in new tab); your process sets the frame. That is where the operational value comes from.

End-to-end workflows

A transaction runs without a break from start to finish. No Excel lists mapping the process next to the system.

One data foundation

Every piece of information is captured once and used everywhere. That saves duplicate work and reconciliation between departments.

Grows with the business

When a workflow changes, the system changes with it, without a new project.

One process from order to payment

The order at the front, the payment at the back, your fulfillment in between. Nuclos runs the whole chain, instead of splitting it across separate modules.

Almost every business follows the same chain: an order comes in, it is fulfilled internally, and billing closes it out. Nuclos maps that chain end to end in one data foundation.

The start and the end are the same for everyone. Only the fulfillment in the middle differs: one company ships goods and produces, another runs projects and service. Both paths meet again in Nuclos.

Thanks to the modular design we can map processes including all information optimally. Novabit implements new requirements quickly. Interfaces to project management and site administration plus automations reduce the load on our planners and increase scalability.

Order intake

It starts with the order. An inquiry becomes a quote, the quote becomes a confirmed order, with all the data the rest of the flow builds on.

The order is the starting point of the chain. What is captured here is available to warehouse, production, project, and accounting without re-entry.

Quotes are created with line items, discounts, and approvals; orders inherit the data consistently. Every transaction begins on a reliable basis.

Building blocks in this step

Inquiry and quote

Capture inquiries, create quotes with line items, discounts, and approvals. Costing and customer data stay attached to the transaction from the start.

Order and confirmation

The quote becomes an order in one click. Backorders and partial deliveries stay visible, and fulfillment builds directly on it.

Internal fulfillment

Now the order is fulfilled. Depending on the business, that runs through inventory and production or through projects and service. Nuclos knows both paths and keeps them on the same data foundation.

This is where the chain branches. A manufacturing or trading business moves goods, plans stock, and produces. A project or service business steers deadlines, effort, and deliverables.

Both paths draw on the same order and customer data and feed into the same billing step. No break, no parallel Excel lists.

Product & manufacturing

Inventory & production

For businesses that procure, store, produce, and ship goods.

Items, bills of materials, and variants

Products, raw materials, and semi-finished goods with attributes, variants, and BOMs. Even complex assortments remain maintainable and reportable.

Purchasing and suppliers

Requirements planning, order proposals, supplier prices, and goods receipt. Purchase orders link directly to stock and open sales orders.

Warehouse and inventory

Storage locations, batches, serial numbers, and stocktaking. Inventory is current at the time of posting, not after overnight synchronization.

Production and manufacturing orders

Routings, production orders (opens in new tab), confirmations, and post-calculation. Production and warehouse post to the same stock records, so bottlenecks surface early.

Project & services

Projects & service

For businesses that plan projects, deliver services, and handle support.

Project structure and milestones

Projects with phases, work packages, and deadlines. Milestones and dependencies make delays visible early.

Time tracking and service records

Book effort to project, task, or customer. Hourly rates flow into post-calculation and billing.

Service and maintenance

Service orders, incident reports, and maintenance contracts. History on customer or asset master, not in separate ticket systems.

Project controlling and billing

Target vs. actual, budgets, and progress billing. Project results flow into finance without manual transfer.

Billing & payment

Billing closes it out. Delivery note, invoice, and incoming payment come from the same postings as the order and the fulfillment before them.

Whether goods delivery or project service: the close runs through the same step. Invoices, open items, and DATEV export build on the data from order and fulfillment.

That closes the chain without manual transfer. Accounting works with validated data from the operational flow, not with re-keyed Excel lists.

Building blocks in this step

Delivery and invoicing

Delivery notes, invoices, credit notes, and e-invoicing (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD) (opens in new tab). Documents link to the order and customer master.

Receivables and payables

Open items, incoming and outgoing payments, cash discounts, and dunning levels. Liquidity and receivables in one view, not maintained in Excel.

DATEV and finance interfaces

Export to DATEV and connection to existing finance processes. Accounting works with validated data from operational ERP.

And my edge case?

Where standard ERP stops is where Nuclos begins.

  • Can I manage 10,000 variants of one product cleanly?
  • Map my own price lists and price tiers?
  • Connect my self-built webshop?
  • Build an audit-proof, traceable data foundation?
  • Model my real special process, not just the standard?

Yes. That is exactly what Nuclos is built for.

Whatever a standard ERP cannot map, we build with low-code and AI within the proven Nuclos framework.

Modular, integrable, open source

Nuclos is not a rigid package. These properties make individualization plannable.

Modular

Introduce, combine, and retire modules individually. Start with the area that matters today and expand when the next process is due. No requirement to buy or roll out everything at once.

Open source

Source code and data stay with you. No per-user license, no vendor dependency for customizations. You decide on operations, partners, and further development, not hidden upgrade cycles.

Integrable

REST API, DATEV, e-invoicing, and third-party systems connect Nuclos to your existing IT. Nuclos does not replace everything at once, but links data and processes where it makes sense.

Adaptable

Model processes, screens, and workflows yourself or with partners. Low-code and AI via MCP accelerate configuration and self-build without every change becoming a programming project.

Additional building blocks

Extensions and connections for further reading when your project goes beyond the three core processes.
