knoell Germany GmbH in Mannheim is a global services provider for regulatory compliance of chemicals and related products, operating at 14 locations across multiple countries. International project work involves complex billing models: fixed-price contracts, effort-based billing, advance payments, intercompany invoicing, and collective invoices. Country-specific invoicing rules, GoBD compliance, and local workforce requirements added further complexity. No standard ERP on the market could map the combination of cross-border project management, multi-currency billing, and country-specific HR processes without heavy customization.

Solution

Nuclos ERP manages project and billing processes, workforce planning, and finance in one integrated system. Fixed-price, effort-based, advance payment, intercompany, and collective invoices are generated centrally according to the applicable country rules. Working time and absence are captured correctly per country. knoell runs a custom web-based user interface on top of the Nuclos platform; accounting and document management are connected via interfaces. The open architecture allows knoell to extend the system in-house, without depending on the vendor for each change.

Result

Invoicing processes accelerated by up to 40 percent. Transparency across all 14 locations improved. Further development of the system remains possible independently, using the open architecture as a long-term foundation without expensive vendor lock-in.
